Fluffy’s Plans for National Lazy Day

Did you know that one of Fluffy’s favorite holidays is coming up? August 10th is National Lazy Day. This is a big event for our feline friends! However, don’t be surprised if your pet can’t be bothered to celebrate much. Your furball may already have plans … to do nothing. A local Michigan City, IN vet lists a few things on your kitty’s agenda below.

Naps

Kitties certainly do enjoy their beauty rest. Some of our feline buddies may spend up to 20 hours a day snoozing, sleeping, dozing, lounging, or just resting. Is being cute really that exhausting?

Meals

No proper lazy day is complete without some yummy food! Fluffy may spend most of the day sleeping, but she will make time for meals between those 32 naps. Offer your furry buddy something special. A can of tuna in water will do nicely.

Beauty Session

Our furry pals are very good at keeping themselves clean. Fluffy will take time to make sure that her fur is soft and smooth. (This falls under the general kitty duty of just being adorable.) Help your pet out by brushing her gently to remove dead fur and dust from her coat.

Supervise The Humans

Have you ever noticed your feline overlord likes to set herself up in a spot where she can watch you? Kitties like to keep a close eye on their humans! Monitoring your activity is part of Fluffy’s agenda. Of course, if your pet is feeling extra lazy, she may just watch you from her favorite napping spot.

Pounce. At Least Once.

Kitties may not be motivated to do much, but they do like to play. Fluffy may take time out of her busy day of doing nothing to bat one of her favorite toys around. Spend a few minutes holding a wand or laser pointer for her.

Cuddle

One of the reasons we love cats so much is because they’re so cuddly. It doesn’t take much to get Fluffy’s motor going! Some kitties purr as soon as you pet them. If your furry friend is a lap cat, let her doze off on you. Settling in with a lazy cat is a great way to relax after a long day.
